Prison sentencing aftermath concept

A man from Asheville pleaded guilty to several charges, including second-degree kidnapping and second-degree sexual offense, resulting in a sentence of seven to 10 years behind bars.

Ahrmad Donte Frye, 28, admitted to two counts of Attempted Armed Robbery, two counts of Second-Degree Kidnapping, and one count of Second-Degree Sexual Offense, according to a press release from the Buncombe County District Attorney’s office.

Frye was sentenced to serve 90-120 months in prison after Asheville Police Department officers investigated reports of sexual assault, kidnapping, and robbery at Mission Hospital. The victims were held at gunpoint, physically assaulted, and one was sexually assaulted before being released in Kenilworth.

Analysis of DNA found on the victims’ vehicle linked Frye to the crime, despite his initial denial of involvement during interviews with detectives. As part of his sentence, Frye is required to register as a sexual offender for 30 years, and a no-contact order with the victims was issued.
