Asheville Regional Airport Gives Sneak Peek at North-End Terminal Project
Asheville Regional Airport is getting ready to reveal its new terminal next summer to meet the increasing demands of travelers. The project aims to enhance passenger experience and address the airport’s popularity.
Out With the Old, In With the New
The current terminal is overdue for an upgrade to accommodate rising passenger numbers. The new terminal will reduce congestion, offer upgraded facilities, and create a more comfortable environment for travelers.
Exciting Features of the New Terminal
The upcoming terminal will feature seven gates out of a total of 12, with around 100,000 square feet. It will include new concessions, nursing rooms, and a pet relief area, allowing for increased travel options and flight frequencies.
Employment Boost
Starting July 1, 2024, there will be 115 available staff positions, providing job opportunities for local residents and stimulating the local economy.
Future Expansion Plans
The focus is on the north-end terminal, with construction for the remaining five gates set to follow. The future south-end building will feature a new permanent checkpoint, expanded concessions, and five additional gates to complete the terminal.
