AdventHealth has revealed plans to build a state-of-the-art multispecialty hospital in Weaverville, Buncombe County. The location, situated off US 25/70 west of I-26, aims to address the need for additional hospital beds in the region.
State officials projected a requirement for 67 more hospital beds in Buncombe, Madison, Yancey, and Graham County service areas by 2024. AdventHealth’s application for more beds was approved, leading to the decision to construct the new hospital in Weaverville.
Mission Health challenged AdventHealth’s application approval, resulting in a trial in 2023. A verdict is pending, but AdventHealth remains committed to the new hospital’s development.
The choice of Weaverville as the hospital site ensures easy access to healthcare services. Brandon Nudd, President and CEO of AdventHealth Hendersonville, emphasized the importance of the new facility’s location.
The new AdventHealth hospital signifies progress in meeting the area’s healthcare needs, promising advanced medical services for the community. AdventHealth’s commitment to local healthcare is evident through this development.
