Allegiant Air Announces Nonstop Flight from Asheville to Minneapolis

Good news for the inhabitants of Asheville looking for a swift way to cross the country to the ‘great north’.

Allegiant’s New Nonstop Route

In a bid to expand its seasonal offerings and meet the expected surge in spring and summer demand, Allegiant Air officially launched a new, nonstop spring and summer flight from Asheville Regional Airport to Minneapolis, home of the NFL Vikings. The inaugural flight to Minneapolis took off on February 15, hence raising the number of Allegiant Air’s nonstop flight options from Asheville to 17. The flights will embark on their journey to Minneapolis up to twice a week, as articulated in an Allegiant Air release.

The Convenience of Nonstop Flights

Drew Wells, spokesperson of Allegiant Travel Company, expressed the company’s enthusiasm in an official statement, “By introducing perfectly-timed seasonal connections, we aim to accommodate the passenger influx towards some of our most frequented destinations nationwide.” He further added, “Through Allegiant’s affordable, all-nonstop flights, passengers can save time on managing layovers and spend more time at their respective destinations.” A one-way trip from Asheville to Minneapolis will tout a starting fare of $58 on March 3, as per the Allegiant Air website.

With an Asheville to Orlando nonstop flight scheduled to begin in late May 2024, Asheville Regional Airport is expected to extend its nonstop servicing to a total of 27 locations by mid-2024. A mix of year-round and seasonal nonstop flight options are offered by the airport, depending upon the air service provider. Seasonal flights range from Asheville to Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, and Denver in the spring-to-fall period and Asheville to Destin, Florida in the summer. Minneapolis marks the latest addition to the spring and summer seasonal flight list, with Orlando, Florida, slated for a year-round nonstop service commencing May 2024.

American Airlines

Year-round nonstop flights from Asheville fly to locations like Charlotte, Dallas/Fort Worth, and New York, with summer flights to Chicago and Miami. Flight timings to Philadelphia vary and flights to Washington, D.C. are also available year-round.

Delta Air Lines and JetBlue Airways

Delta offers year-round nonstop flights to Atlanta, New York, and Minneapolis. JetBlue Airways operates from Asheville to Boston from summer to early fall.

Sun Country Airlines and United Airlines

Sun Country Airlines operates from Asheville to Minneapolis from spring to fall. United Airlines offers year-round nonstop flights from Asheville to cities like Chicago, Denver, and Newark, New Jersey.
