Asheville Police Investigate Fatal Apartment Shooting

Asheville police are actively investigating a fatal shooting that occurred at the Artisan at Biltmore Park apartment complex in Asheville. The incident took place early Sunday morning, resulting in the death of 49-year-old Terry Lee Landrum Sr.

Authorities were alerted to the shooting around 6 a.m. on Sunday, June 16, when they discovered Landrum Sr. with an apparent gunshot wound at the apartment complex located on Long Shoals Road. The Asheville Police Department is currently working to apprehend the perpetrator and bring justice to the victim’s family.

The Asheville police have emphasized the importance of the initial 48 hours following the shooting in gathering critical evidence and leads. As Capt. Joe Silberman of the Asheville Police Department stated in a News 13 interview, “We are actively engaged in the investigation and have additional witness interviews scheduled to gain further insights into the case. Probation and Previous Legal History

It has come to light that Terry Lee Landrum Sr. was on supervised probation in Henderson County at the time of his untimely death. The Department of Adult Corrections confirmed that Landrum Sr. had been placed on 36 months of supervised probation in August of 2023, following a drug trafficking charge.

While the connection between his probation status and the shooting remains unclear, investigators are examining all aspects of Landrum Sr.’s background to shed light on any potential motives behind the incident.
