Man Accused of Setting Fire at Apartment Taken into Custody, Charged with Arson

Asheville police have apprehended a suspect accused of setting fire to an apartment complex. The suspect, identified as 26-year-old Alexander Christian Davis, was sought in connection with a fire that occurred at an apartment on Atkinson Street on March 31.

The fire, deemed to have been intentionally set by Davis, resulted in substantial damage within the unit. Fortunately, no individuals were present in the apartment at the time of the incident. Asheville police launched an investigation to track down the suspect.

After a search operation, Davis was located and apprehended at approximately 8:45 a.m. on April 22. The authorities have formally charged him with first-degree arson in connection with the apartment fire. Davis was subsequently booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility and is being held without bond.
