Teenage suspect sought after 2 injured in Asheville apartment complex shooting
Asheville – The Asheville Police Department is investigating a shooting that left two with non-life-threatening injuries on the night of Saturday, June 22. Officers initially responded to an apartment complex on Atkinson Street around 10:16 p.m. on Saturday, June 22 to investigate reports of two people shot. Upon arrival, officers located a victim with apparent gunshot wounds to the abdomen. Officers administered medical aid before the victim was transported to Mission Hospital without life-threatening injuries. Officers learned that before their arrival, a second victim suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to the chest and forearm was also taken to Mission Hospital by a third party.

Witnesses and the victims described the shooter as a black teenage male with shoulder-length dreadlocks. He was wearing a long-sleeved thermal shirt and white shoes.
