Asheville, known for its vibrant arts scene and picturesque mountain views, is set to welcome a stunning display of ballet this weekend. That’s right, folks! The Asheville Ballet is bringing its much-anticipated event, Fall Into Dance: An Artistic Harvest, to the scenic Pack Square Park. If you’re looking for a delightful way to enjoy the beautiful fall evening, you won’t want to miss this event!

When and Where?

Mark your calendars for Friday and Saturday, September 13-14, at 7:30 p.m. each night. The performances will be held on the Roger McGuire Green stage, a wonderful outdoor venue where the community can come together under the stars and soak in all the artistic talent on display. And, hey, don’t forget to throw a lawn chair or a picnic blanket in your car! It’s going to be a lovely evening, and being comfortable will only make it better.

What to Expect

The Asheville Ballet, named North Carolina’s oldest ballet company, is known for its innovative and captivating performances. Directed by Ann Dunn, this year’s show features all-original choreography from a talented lineup of eight choreographers. Each will showcase their unique style, ensuring there’s something for everyone in the audience.

Here’s a sneak peek at the choreographed pieces you’ll see if you attend:

  • “Conch” by Ann Dunn and Megan Jones Medford
  • “Donde Voy” by Alisha Ear
  • “Between and Beyond” featuring a Clara Zander solo by Fleming Lomax
  • “Just Do What You Can” by Phillip McRorie
  • “Re-dress” by Tricia Renshaw
  • “Stuck” by Regina Rice
  • “re(UNFAZED)” by Rachel Sanford
  • “We Dance Together, For Unknown is Tomorrow” by Rachel Taylor

This diverse array of pieces spans various styles from classical to contemporary, showcasing both the creativity and the extraordinary talent of the performers. Whether you’re a ballet aficionado or someone who simply enjoys a good show, there’s bound to be something that resonates with your spirit.

Ticket Information

Tickets are priced at a very reasonable $20. Considering the caliber of talent and the unique experience of enjoying live ballet in the great outdoors, it’s a small price to pay for an unforgettable evening. Tickets can be purchased on-site, but it’s recommended to arrive early to secure a good spot.

Weather Watch

Now, let’s talk about the weather. With temperatures expected to reach a pleasant high of 71°F, the conditions should be just right for a lovely evening out. There might be some cloudy skies to add an artistic atmosphere, and there’s a slight chance of a rain shower, with a 60% chance of rain. So, it might be wise to bring along a light jacket and, just in case, an umbrella too!
