Asheville, N.C. is buzzing with new initiatives aimed at helping local businesses bounce back from recent challenges. Starting on October 16, the Asheville Chamber of Commerce is set to open its Business Recovery Workspace, a fantastic effort to provide essential support to the hardworking individuals who power our local economy.
Sponsored by Lenoir-Rhyne University, this new workspace is located at 36 Montford Ave. and will be available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. It serves as a safe haven for business owners, nonprofit organizations, and employees who have been affected by the recent challenges posed by Helene. The Chamber recognizes that these businesses are not just institutions; they are the vibrant heart of our community, providing jobs, services, and a sense of belonging.
What’s even better? The workspace is offered at no cost to local businesses, operating on a first-come, first-served basis with an impressive capacity for up to 70 users. This initiative is designed to empower business owners and their teams to get back on their feet and thrive once again.
The Asheville Chamber has been proactive in its mission, already establishing the Business Recovery Center and the Mountain Strong Fund for Business Recovery. These resources aim to extend both informational and financial support, which are crucial for businesses at this time. Kit Cramer, the President & CEO of the Asheville Chamber, emphasizes the importance of these efforts: “These businesses are essential to the region’s recovery.”
Cramer stresses that many local businesses are facing unprecedented challenges and that the resources provided by the Chamber are vital. “They need both informational and financial support now in order to move forward,” she says. It’s pretty clear that the Chamber is dedicated to ensuring that these businesses can navigate this tough period successfully.
For those unfamiliar with the area, the extensive network of businesses and industries in Western North Carolina includes manufacturing, technology, retail, hospitality, and more. All these sectors come together to create a thriving local economy that not only drives growth but also supports the community in numerous ways. Local shops, restaurants, and services are the lifeblood of Asheville, and keeping them strong is vital for everyone.
The launch of the Business Recovery Workspace is just one part of a larger strategy to bolster the local economy and support the crucial players in it. With these initiatives, the Asheville Chamber is taking significant steps toward assisting businesses in this challenging time.
It’s important for business owners and employees in Asheville and the surrounding areas to take advantage of these resources. Whether you need a place to work, access to information, or financial assistance, the Asheville Chamber is here to help.
