SWANNANOA, N.C. (HERE NEWS) — An employee of Asheville Christian Academy is on leave while under investigation by the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office, the school confirmed in a statement provided to HERE NEWS.
The statement, released by Dr. William George, Head of School for Asheville Christian Academy, revealed that the sheriff’s office is conducting an investigation “regarding one of our staff member’s interactions with an Upper School student.” The staff member involved has not been on campus during the investigation period.
When contacted for more information, the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office declined to provide details about the ongoing investigation at this time. The nature of the interactions between the staff member and the student has not been disclosed publicly.
The school is fully cooperating with the authorities and assisting in any way possible to facilitate the investigation. The situation is being treated with the utmost seriousness, and the school is working closely with law enforcement to navigate the next steps appropriately.
