Excited attendees gather for the Downtown After 5 concert series at its new location in Pack Square Park.
Asheville is set to bring music lovers and the community together with the relocation of the Downtown After 5 concert series to Pack Square Park in 2025. This change aims to provide a more spacious venue for concert-goers while energizing the local scene. In support of community events, ArtsAVL has awarded $77,000 in grants to host various vibrant public activities throughout the city. Highlights include the Surreal Sirkus Arts Festival, Asheville Mardi Gras Parade, and many more. The events promise to uplift the community following the challenges from Hurricane Helene.
Great news for music lovers and community members in Asheville! The ever-popular Downtown After 5 concert series is making a significant change in 2025. It’s relocating to the lively Pack Square Park! This transition is all about creating a larger and more accommodating venue for concert-goers and ensuring that everyone can enjoy the fantastic music scene that Asheville has to offer.
In addition to the exciting concert news, there’s even more happening behind the scenes. The local arts organization, ArtsAVL, has announced the distribution of a whopping $77,000 in event support grant funding to help energize community events. Eight different recipients will benefit from this funding, allowing them to host engaging, free public events in Asheville’s charming streets, parks, and other outdoor public spaces.
This move is set to bring a fresh wave of energy to the city’s cultural scene, especially after the challenges faced last year. Local businesses can look forward to a boost in foot traffic and a renewed sense of community vibrancy.
So, what can you expect from these funded events? Let’s take a look at some of the highlights you won’t want to miss:
As you plan to enjoy all these amazing events, keep an eye on the weather too! Expect a **mostly sunny** afternoon with temperatures soaring around **60°F**. However, be ready for some **NNW winds** gusting up to **40 mph**. As night falls, temperatures will drop to a cooler **34°F**, with lighter winds making for a pleasant evening.
These announcements come on the heels of the devastation caused by **Hurricane Helene** nearly seven months ago. The storm particularly impacted the River Arts District, home to many local artists and creatives, but the community is banding together stronger than ever.
To further enhance community spirit, a special benefit show titled **”They Named the City After Me”** is scheduled to perform at The Orange Peel on April 17, 2025. The show features the talented Hendersonville singer-songwriter Ash Gutierrez (known as Glaive) along with artists like Jane Remover, ericdoa, and Dazegxd. Tickets will go on sale on February 7, 2025, and all proceeds will support ArtsAVL!
And don’t miss out on the vibrant **”Concert for Carolina.”** This epic event will take place on October 26, 2025, at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, featuring a host of well-known artists, including Luke Combs and James Taylor. Proceeds from this concert will go toward vital relief efforts for Hurricane Helene.
With so much creativity and community spirit in the air, Asheville is buzzing with anticipation! Get ready to enjoy the music, support local artists, and revel in the vibrant culture of this beautiful city!
