Asheville’s Craft Beer Scene Expands with New Releases from Popular Local Breweries
Asheville, known for its vibrant craft beer culture, is welcoming two exciting additions to its brewery lineup this spring. Wicked Weed and Highland, both well-established breweries in Western North Carolina, have introduced new releases that are sure to tantalize the taste buds of beer enthusiasts.
New Flavors at Wicked Weed Brewing
Over a decade ago, the Dickinson and Guthy families came together in Asheville to create Wicked Weed Brewing. An important promise was made to Rick “Uncle Rick” Guthy to always have a Pilsner available at their taproom. In keeping with that commitment, Wicked Weed has launched a new hoppy brew named Pils. This light-bodied lager strikes a perfect balance between bitterness and sweetness, accentuated by botanical notes. The Pils is now available year-round, offering a refreshing option for beer lovers.
Highland Brewing Celebrates 30 Years with Fresh Offerings
Highland Brewing, the pioneer of legal brewing in Asheville post-Prohibition, is commemorating its 30th anniversary this year. To mark the occasion, the brewery has unveiled two new delectable creations—the Highland Cerveza and Lounge Juice Double IPA. Cerveza, a malty Mexican-style lager infused with lime, will be on tap until June. On the other hand, Lounge Juice is a year-round offering that boasts passionfruit and pineapple flavors, enhanced by tropical hop oils for an extra burst of zest.
