Asheville Extends Enrollment Deadline to May 15, 2024

Asheville, NC – First-year and transfer students who have been admitted to the University of North Carolina Asheville as recently as March 26, 2024, will now have until Wednesday, May 15, 2024 (11:59 p.m. local time) to make their college decision. The extension follows a nationwide trend to provide additional time for prospective students and their families to make this important decision in light of challenges with the Department of Education’s processing of this year’s Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Extension to Support Informed Decision-Making

According to Marcio Moreno, associate vice chancellor for admission and financial aid at UNC Asheville, the decision was made to ensure that students have everything they need to make the most informed decision possible for their college choice. Any deadlines that enrolled students must consider after committing to UNC Asheville, such as housing applications, have been updated to accommodate this change.

Opportunities for Admitted Students

Admitted students and families can learn more about UNC Asheville by visiting campus and attending the upcoming Admitted Student Day on Saturday, April 20. To register for Admitted Student Day, or any of the University’s other virtual and in-person events for admitted students, log into the AVLBound Portal at unca.edu/avlbound.
