Wanted felon arrested during attempted armed robbery of Asheville apartment

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – A wanted felon was arrested in Asheville as he attempted an armed robbery

The Asheville Police Department responded to a call about an armed robbery at an apartment on Granada Street. Upon arrival, they encountered Daryl Thomas Johnson, 24, who was wanted on five open warrants.

Charges against Johnson

  • Attempted Robbery With a Dangerous Weapon
  • Carrying Concealed Gun
  • Assault On a Female
  • Resisting Public Officer
  • Possession of Firearm By Felon

Additional Warrants

Johnson also had multiple outstanding warrants, including Common Law Robbery, Felony Probation Violation (3 counts), First Degree Burglary, Felony Conspiracy, and Attempted Robbery With a Dangerous Weapon.

Arrest and Confinement

Johnson was taken into custody and booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility with no bond due to felony probation violation.
