Asheville Felon Arrested with Stolen Firearm and Illegal Substances

Asheville, N.C. — A convicted felon was apprehended by local authorities on Wednesday after being discovered in the possession of illicit drugs and a stolen firearm, with its serial number altered. Law enforcement officers conducting active enforcement in the neighborhood of West Asheville made the arrest early Wednesday morning.

The Perpetrator

The accused is identified as Antonio Donte Lynch, a 35-year-old male with a prior record of serious offenses constituting felonies. Lynch was found carrying several illegal substances and a concealed firearm at around 1:45 a.m.

Charges Levied against Lynch

The Asheville Police Department lodged multiple charges against Lynch, including:

  • Possession of a firearm by a felon
  • Possession of a stolen firearm
  • Possession of firearm with an altered serial number
  • Carrying a concealed gun
  • Felony possession of schedule II controlled substances

Items Seized at the Time of Arrest

During his arrest, the law enforcement personnel confiscated numerous illegal products and items. The inventory of the confiscated items includes:

  • A Kahr .380 pistol, confirmed to be stolen and with an altered serial number
  • 0.48 grams of Cocaine, a Schedule II controlled substance
  • One dose unit (DU) of the drug ecstasy

Detainment and Legal Proceedings

Following his arrest, Lynch was transported to the Buncombe County Detention Facility, where he remains held on a $30,000 secured bond as per the magistrate’s orders. If convicted on all charges, Lynch could potentially face several years of imprisonment and hefty fines.
