Asheville Steps Up: New Donation Drop-Off Site for Community Support
In the heart of Asheville, a wave of generosity is sweeping through the community as residents come together to help those in need. In light of recent events, the City of Asheville has teamed up with United Way to establish a new donation drop-off site aimed at making it easier for individuals and groups to contribute during this critical time.
Your Chance to Make a Difference
Do you have items at home that could help others in need? Now is your chance to give back! The new drop-off site is open for donations of various essential items, and every little bit helps. Whether you’re cleaning out your pantry or want to pick up a few extra items during your next grocery trip, participating in this initiative is a wonderful way to show support for our community.
What You Can Donate
This drop-off site is accepting a range of small donations. Here’s a quick list of what can be dropped off:
- Water
- Nonperishable food
- Personal care items
- Infant care supplies
- Pet food supplies
- Disposable plates and utensils
- Clothing
- Cleaning supplies, including buckets
However, there are some limitations. The site cannot accept items requiring refrigeration or any type of flammable liquids. Please keep this in mind as you prepare your donations.
Where to Go
If you’re ready to donate, head to the Harrah’s Cherokee Center located at 87 Haywood Street. The drop-off point is conveniently set up right at the front door of the venue, making it easy for you to come and go.
Hours of Operation
The donation drop-off site is open every day, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. That’s right—seven days a week! This flexible schedule allows you to stop by whenever it suits you, making it easier for everyone to lend a helping hand.
