Asheville Man Sentenced for Deadly Shooting Incident

Ashville resident Tyrell Warren, 32, has been found guilty and sentenced over a year after a shooting incident in a local parking area underneath Jeff Bowen Bridge. The event, which occurred on June 13, 2021, led to the death of one individual and left another severely injured.

Warren was apprehended for his illegal actions which included Second Degree Murder and Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, among related accusations. After a two-week jury trial, the court returned a final verdict on the man’s case, following thorough discussions.

When officers arrived at the alleged crime scene, they found Brian Wilson, along with another victim, both in grave conditions with chest wounds from gunshots. Tragically, Wilson could not withstand his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The second person was rushed to a nearby hospital, from where they were able to recover over time.

Warren, following his conviction, was dealt a severe sentence of 336 to 416 months’ imprisonment for the Second Degree Murder charge, on top of an 89 to 119 month period for the charges related to armed robbery.
