Asheville’s creative community and abundant nature offerings are just two reasons attributed to its ranking as one of the best places in the South. Southern Living announced its 2024 South’s Best Award winners, with Asheville securing the 5th spot on the list of South’s Best Cities.
The South’s Best Awards were determined based on the ratings of over 20,000 Southern Living consumers. Asheville’s Biltmore Estate, Blue Ridge Mountains, craft beer and culinary scene, and the “close-knit community of artists” contributed to its unique appeal. The city was edged out by four other Southern counterparts on the list.
The South’s Best Award winners will be highlighted in the April issue of Southern Living magazine. This recognition will showcase Asheville’s charm and distinct offerings. The award categories include Best Cities on the Rise, Best Small Town in Every State, Best New Restaurants, and more.
