Asheville Parks & Recreation Brings March-velous Programs to Spring Cheer

The month of March in Asheville promises the arrival of spring, with a diverse array of events and programs to rejuvenate the community. From outdoor adventures to unique events and youth programs, Asheville residents are in for a treat this March. Here’s a glimpse of what to expect:

Special Events

Asheville Parks & Recreation has scheduled a variety of special events to kick off the spring season. From a Pie for Pi Day baking competition on March 14 to St. Waggy’s Day celebrating furry friends on March 15, there’s something for everyone. Outdoor enthusiasts can join the Teen Egg Glow Hunt on March 15 and the Spring Eggstravaganza on March 30 for a fun-filled time. The Light the Night Bike Ride on March 23 offers a unique opportunity to explore the city in a new light.

Outdoors

For those looking to embrace the great outdoors, there will be several hiking expeditions throughout March. From therapeutic hikes at Bill Moore Community Park to women’s day hikes on scenic trails, there are plenty of opportunities to explore nature. Indoor rock climbing enthusiasts can also look forward to the Youth Beginner Climbing program starting on March 6.

Games and Gaming

Game nights and friendly competitions are a staple of this event. World of Games on Wednesday nights, Shiloh Game Night on March 1, and Southside Family Game Night on March 8 are just a few of the gaming events lined up for March. Teens can participate in Pizza and Trivia Night on March 15 and enjoy an evening of fun at Montford Teen Fun Night: Among Us on March 22.

Registration Dates

Registration is open for a range of programs, including the Asheville-Buncombe Senior Games and SilverArts, Spring Break Camp, softball leagues, flag football, and sand volleyball. For those looking ahead to summer, registration for APR Summer Camp opens on March 25, offering a summer of fun for kids of all ages.
