Asheville: Pedestrian critically injured in Tunnel Road collision

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) —

A pedestrian is in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle in Asheville Thursday night. Police say the crash happened just after 9:15 p.m. near the 144 block of Tunnel Road. A preliminary investigation indicates the pedestrian was crossing the road when they were hit by a 2017 Acura MDX traveling east on Tunnel Road, police said.

The pedestrian was taken to Mission Hospital in critical condition. Police said no charges had been filed yet, and their investigation into the incident continues. The crash closed Tunnel Road near Kenilworth Road for a time on Thursday.
