Asheville Police probe into two separate gun discharge incidents occurring on August 3

Asheville, NC – The Asheville Police Department is currently investigating two episodes of gun discharges that happened on the same day, August 3, according to local authorities.

First Incident in River Arts Place

Reports indicate that police officers were called to the scene of the first incident at precisely 12:56 a.m. at the River Arts Place. On arrival, responding officers did not find the suspect at the scene. However, after conducting an initial survey, they discovered 10 shell casings scattered around the location. Additionally, officers noted that three vehicles showed signs of damage, presumably from the discharging firearm.

Damages on Burton Street

In the second incident, which occurred at about 6:36 p.m., officers were hurried to a home on Burton Street following reports of a discharged firearm. After a careful examination of the said location, which was already deserted on their arrival, the officers discovered two bullet holes in the building. More so, they found seven shell casings around the vicinity.

Investigations Ongoing

As it stands, the police are yet to make any arrests or release identities of possible suspects linked to either incident. However, local authorities reassured residents that investigations are ongoing towards shedding more light on the two cases. They also emphasized that maintaining public safety remains their top priority.
