Asheville Police Investigate Two Gun Discharge Incidents on August 3

Asheville Police probe into two separate gun discharge incidents occurring on August 3

Asheville, NC – The Asheville Police Department is currently investigating two episodes of gun discharges that happened on the same day, August 3, according to local authorities.

First Incident in River Arts Place

Reports indicate that police officers were called to the scene of the first incident at precisely 12:56 a.m. at the River Arts Place. On arrival, responding officers did not find the suspect at the scene. However, after conducting an initial survey, they discovered 10 shell casings scattered around the location. Additionally, officers noted that three vehicles showed signs of damage, presumably from the discharging firearm.

Damages on Burton Street

In the second incident, which occurred at about 6:36 p.m., officers were hurried to a home on Burton Street following reports of a discharged firearm. After a careful examination of the said location, which was already deserted on their arrival, the officers discovered two bullet holes in the building. More so, they found seven shell casings around the vicinity.

Investigations Ongoing

As it stands, the police are yet to make any arrests or release identities of possible suspects linked to either incident. However, local authorities reassured residents that investigations are ongoing towards shedding more light on the two cases. They also emphasized that maintaining public safety remains their top priority.

Call for Public Assistance

The Asheville Police Department has called on the community members and any potential witnesses to share any information they may have about the two incidents. Investigators believe that public involvement could help expedite the identification and subsequent apprehension of the persons involved.

Residents with viable information have been advised to channel their reports through the Asheville Police Department’s hotline on (828) 252-1110. Authorities promise to treat every bit of information with utmost confidentiality while seeking justice for the victims of the incidents.

Without a doubt, these occurrences have thrown some concern among residents, especially because the cases are yet to be resolved. Still, the city’s residents are hopeful that the Asheville Police Department will thoroughly investigate these events and bring the responsible parties to justice.

Meanwhile, residents have been advised to stay cautious, report any suspicious activities, and abide by all safety instructions issued by the police department, as the search for the individuals behind the August 3 gun discharge incidents continues.
