Asheville Police Investigates Reported Gunshots, Hears Others During Investigation

The Asheville Police Department said Friday they are investigating gunshots reported on Thursday morning in South Asheville. The APD said that while officers were conducting crime prevention, reports of a gunshot were called in from the area of Robinson Avenue and Crest Avenue around 9:33 a.m. While canvassing the area, officers located 5 shell casings. Officers said they also heard several more gunshots, but could not locate a crime scene or any victims near the second location.
