Asheville’s VeganFest Hosts First ‘Springfest’ Event

A Vegan Delight for all Event-goers

Asheville, North Carolina, was abuzz with excitement as the city’s VeganFest kicked off its first-ever ‘Springfest’ event on Sunday, June 2nd. Held at the picturesque Pack Square, attendees were treated to an array of vegan delights, from food trucks to live music, face painting, and more. The event aimed to educate visitors about the vegan lifestyle while providing a fun-filled day for families.

The Vegan Lifestyle

Organizers emphasized that people choose to embrace veganism for various reasons, whether for compassionate treatment of animals, health benefits, or environmental concerns. Helene Greenburg, executive director of Vegfest Expos, highlighted the impact of food choices on climate change, stating, “The way we eat impacts our climate and global warming, making the weather really wonky.”

A Unique Experience

Despite the atypical weather conditions for early June in Asheville, attendees reveled in the diverse offerings at Springfest. The festival, traditionally held in the fall as part of VeganFest, provided a glimpse into the vibrant vegan community in the area. For those interested in participating in future events or volunteering, additional information can be found on the VeganFest website.
