Asheville Offers $20 Discount for Locals at Biltmore Estate's Holiday Celebrations

Asheville Welcomes Holiday Cheer with Special Discounts at Biltmore Estate

Asheville is buzzing with excitement this holiday season, especially for locals looking for a bit of sparkle and cheer at one of their treasured spots, the Biltmore Estate. Starting November 19, residents of Western North Carolina can enjoy a delightful $20 discount on admission for the magical Candlelight Christmas Evenings. This offer is part of the broader Christmas at Biltmore holiday experience and is not just a treat—it’s a gesture of support for the community following the challenges posed by Tropical Storm Helene earlier this year.

A Response to a Community in Need

In September, Tropical Storm Helene rained devastation on the region, leading to record-breaking flooding in the French Broad River and Swannanoa River. This catastrophic weather event caused substantial damage to the surrounding areas, including the historic Biltmore Village right at the estate’s entrance. In response, Biltmore has introduced the “WNC Strong” discount as a way to lift spirits and encourage local visitation during this festive time.

This exciting discount runs through December 19 and is exclusively available for tours of Biltmore House on Monday through Thursday evenings. To snag this deal, visitors can use the promo code “wncstrong” when making new reservations. It’s essential to keep in mind, though, that this discount cannot be applied to existing bookings, so interested guests should plan accordingly and act quickly as availability is limited!

Visiting Biltmore: What to Expect

For those who may not have visited lately, Biltmore is renowned for its stunning decorations during the holiday season. The estate kicked off its Christmas celebrations on November 2, showcasing an enchanting atmosphere complete with glittering lights and festive cheer. As part of the holiday program, guests can marvel at the elegantly adorned rooms of Biltmore House while enjoying the added charm of traditional candlelight tours.

During such visits, you’ll find that there’s always something new to delight in. Notably, a 28-foot Fraser fir tree has been raised in the Banquet Hall. This beautiful tradition was inspired by the Vanderbilt family and adds an iconic touch to the holiday experience. The estate’s vast 8,000 acres boast not only breathtaking architecture but also scenic gardens, walking paths, and the beautiful Chihuly exhibition that visitors can appreciate.

More Than Just a Holiday Destination

In light of its recent closure due to the storm recovery efforts, Biltmore is gradually returning to full operations. This means more than just a lovely holiday ambiance; it’s also a beacon of hope for employees and locals alike. Nearly 2,400 workers were on furlough during the estate’s closure, and thankfully, many are returning as operations ramp up.

Moreover, the estate’s family owners have stepped in with the Biltmore Relief Fund for WNC, graciously pledging a significant $2 million to help with recovery efforts across the region. The recent “Concert for Carolina” fundraiser also directed monetary support to those in need.

Planning Your Visit

Admission prices may vary throughout the holiday season, generally ranging from $125 to $155 for adults, but with the special discount, this becomes an incredible deal! If you end up loving your Biltmore experience, consider upgrading your ticket to an annual pass while on the estate. The current offer stands at a fabulous $90 off, giving you unlimited access to the estate throughout the year.

To those in Asheville and surrounding areas, now is the time to soak up the festive spirit at Biltmore Estate. This holiday season, discover the beauty of your backyard while making cherished memories with loved ones.
