Scouting BSA Honors Its Adult Leaders in Hendersonville

Acknowledging Excellence in Scouting

A group of dedicated adult leaders in the Scouting community of Hendersonville has been recognized for their outstanding contributions to the organization. These leaders have exhibited exceptional service and commitment to guiding and mentoring young scouts, ensuring they have enriching and fulfilling experiences within the scouting program.

Local Scouters Receive Prestigious Awards

In December, John Lampley, the Looking Glass District Chairman and Scoutmaster of Troop 628, was honored with the prestigious Founder’s Award by the Daniel Boone Council Order of the Arrow. This award acknowledges his unwavering dedication to the scouting movement and his significant impact on the lives of scouts under his leadership.

During the Looking Glass District Banquet in January, Jennifer Welch, Scoutmaster of Troop 72, and David Smith, Charter Organization Representative of Pack 26 and Troops 26 and 4026, were presented with the District Award of Merit. Their exceptional service and commitment to scouting were celebrated, highlighting their role in shaping the next generation of leaders.

Additionally, Cub Scout Pack 26 and Scout Troop 624 were recognized as Units of the Year during the same event. This acknowledgment underscores the collective effort and dedication of the leaders and scouts within these units to uphold the values and principles of Scouting BSA.

Recognizing Exceptional Service

In February, Ron Kuebler, a Unit Commissioner, received the Torch of Gold Award at the Indian Waters Council Banquet in Sumter, South Carolina. This award honors Kuebler for his outstanding service and leadership in working with Scouts with disabilities, exemplifying the inclusive nature of the scouting community.

At the recent Daniel Boone Council Banquet in March, Scouter Don Henderson was presented with the council’s prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award. Henderson, who retired as Scoutmaster of Edneyville Troop 605 after 19 years, continues to make a significant impact as the charter organization representative for Pack 605 and Troop 605. His dedication and commitment to the scouting movement have left a lasting legacy in the Hendersonville community.

A Culture of Excellence

The Looking Glass District of the Daniel Boone Council comprises 14 Cub Scout Packs and 16 Scout Troops, reflecting a vibrant and active scouting community in Hendersonville. The continuous recognition of adult leaders for their exceptional service and commitment underscores the culture of excellence that permeates through the scouting programs in the area.
