Buncombe County Democratic Party Convention Focuses on Protecting 2024 Blue Seats

Saturday morning, Democratic community members gathered for the 2024 Buncombe County Democratic Party Convention. It’s a chance to highlight candidates and share plans as the 2024 election cycle continues to ramp up.

Lack of Interest Among Democrats Likely Culprit for NC’s Low Primary Voter Turnout

Officials say their main goal this year is to protect all the blue seats up and down the state, local, and national ballots. Kathie Kline, Buncombe County Democratic party chair, mentioned how important N.C. House District 115 Lindsey Prather’s race is since the Republicans of the General Assembly have attempted to gerrymander her out of her office.

“So, we are prepared to work really hard to protect her seat,” said Kline. “We are also working to push back on what we called misinformation that could harm democracy and fair elections.”

Protecting Blue Seats Across North Carolina

The focus of the convention was on ensuring the safety of the Democratic seats to maintain control and continue to support the policies and initiatives they have put in place. Various Democratic leaders discussed strategies to unite and engage the community in protecting these blue seats.

Community Engagement and Grassroots Efforts

One of the key aspects highlighted during the convention was the importance of community engagement and grassroots efforts in securing the Democratic seats. Volunteers and organizers were encouraged to reach out to neighbors, friends, and family members to increase awareness and participation in the upcoming elections.

Challenges Ahead and Solidarity Among Democrats

While Democrats remain optimistic about maintaining their blue seats, they are also aware of the challenges ahead. The convention served as a platform for party members to come together in solidarity and strategize how to overcome obstacles and secure Democratic victories in the 2024 elections.

Looking Ahead to the 2024 Election Cycle

As the 2024 election cycle heats up, the Buncombe County Democratic Party Convention has set the tone for a focused and determined approach to protecting blue seats and advancing Democratic values. The convention attendees left with a sense of purpose and commitment to ensuring a successful outcome in the upcoming elections.
