Community Rallies in Asheville Post-Tropical Storm Helene
Asheville residents are coming together in remarkable ways as the community faces the aftermath of Tropical Storm Helene. Supplies Distribution & Intake Locations
Several locations across Asheville are offering essential supplies. Asheville Middle School has set up as a major distribution point, providing MREs, food, and bottled water. They are open until 7 PM and are located at 211 S. French Broad Ave. Please note that each family can collect one case of water. Another wonderful spot is Beloved Asheville, which accepts donations from Tuesday to Saturday starting at 11 AM, situated at 32 Old Charlotte Hwy.
For hot meals, Dssolvr is serving food, water, and supplies Monday through Friday at 63 N Lexington Ave. If you need diapers, first aid medications, or clothing, swing by Poder Emma: El Mercadito, open Wednesday through Friday from 1 PM, as well as Sunday at noon, located at 477 N. Louisiana Ave.
Lucy Herring Elementary School and Pack Square Park are also essential pick-up points, providing bulk water. Don’t forget to bring your own containers! And if you’re in the mood for a meal, 12 Baskets Cafe is open daily at 610 Haywood Rd serving food starting at 10 AM.

Don’t worry about our furry friends! Local groups like Asheville Veterinary Associates are distributing pet supplies like dog food and litter at 50 New Leicester Highway. Charlie’s Angels Animal Rescue is also lending a hand with pet food every day at 5526 Hendersonville Rd. If your pet needs veterinary care, MedVet Asheville is open daily for emergencies at 677 Brevard Rd.

On the health front, many urgent care locations such as MERCY Urgent Care centers are available throughout the county, offering help every day. It’s been tough, but locals can shower and wash clothes at many community spots. Walmart Supercenters in both Asheville and Weaverville offer free showers and laundry services daily from 7 AM.
