BILTMORE ESTATE

In Asheville, North Carolina, the Biltmore Estate is a historic house museum and tourist destination. The main residence, Biltmore House, is a Châteauesque-style mansion built between 1889 and 1895 for George Washington Vanderbilt II and is the largest privately-owned house in the United States, with 178,926 square feet of floor space. It is one of the most well-known examples of Gilded Age palaces, and it is still owned by George Vanderbilt’s family. The Estate provides guests with a variety of interesting experiences.

Frederick Law Olmsted, America’s foremost landscape architect, constructed acres of formal and informal gardens. Biltmore’s spectacular landscapes are testimony to Olmsted’s talent, from the year-round splendor of the gardens to the majesty of the nation’s first managed forest- this is a paradise for any nature lover.

Whether you are in search of some adventure or seeking a relaxing getaway, Biltmore provides everything you will need. You will find a plethora of indoor and outdoor activities here. Numerous stores, tours, and special events are available. Hand crafted wine and delectable meals are on the menu. Orchids abound in a soaring glass conservatory.
