Renovations at Former Asheville Primary School Raise Concerns Over Disposal of Classroom Items

The former Asheville Primary School building is undergoing renovations as Asheville City Schools plans to move its operations offices into the location. Concerns were raised when usable classroom items were seen being disposed of during the removal process. Asheville City Schools stated that only items beyond repair or not meeting safety standards were discarded. Materials designated for storage were relocated to the first floor, and usable items were organized for future use. Criticism from the community has arisen over the disposal of materials from the closed school. Updates on the moving process for Asheville City Schools operations will be provided as more information becomes available.
