Reginald and Maisie Embark on a Dog-Friendly Adventure in Asheville

Set amidst the enchanting Land of the Sky, Asheville city unveiled an exquisite outing for its honorary City Editors – Reginald and Maisie. Responding to our call for a dog-friendly day in the city, these sweet canines decided to embark on an adventure planned by Asheville’s caring residents.

At the Patton Avenue Pet Company

The day began at the Patton Avenue Pet Company. This delightful pet store welcomed Reginald and Maisie with treats as an initiation to their fascinating day out. Reg could not resist the shelves stocked with tasty chews, and Maisie managed to persuade her human to buy her a new stuffed pal.

Refreshments at Taco Billy

A break was in order after their shopping spree and Taco Billy was the perfect spot. With grand picnic tables and a lovely grassy area for the dogs, this casual eatery provided a relaxed atmosphere for the midday meal. Maisie found a cool shaded area to rest her paws while Reg decided to soak up some sun.

Run-Around at French Broad River Dog Park

Every dog deserves a romp in the park and the French Broad River dog park was the chosen spot. The park is popular among Asheville’s pet owners and is divided into areas for small and large dogs, making it an ideal rendezvous for our four-legged duo. Reg was quite taken by the lively dog park atmosphere, while Maisie preferred a quieter walk upon one of the many trails.

Sweet Retreat at Sweeten Creek Brewing

The final destination for the day was not surprising. Sweeten Creek Brewing is well-known for its love for canine patrons. Maisie found solace in the comfort of the cool taproom while Reg happily explored the sprawling 8,000-sqft dog park at the site. A refreshing brew for the humans ended their day on a sweet note.

Indeed, every day is a celebration of our furry friends in Asheville. So why not plan your dog-friendly adventure too? The city guide to Asheville offers a list of various attractions and services for your canine pal.
