Godiet Corral’s Double Murder Trial Begins in Buncombe County

The murder trial for a man accused of a double killing in December 2022 began this week in Buncombe County. Godiet Corral is facing two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of Sandy Torrey and Bryan Khopkar, who were found shot to death in a vehicle at the Shell gas station on Mills Gap Road in Fletcher on Dec. 19, 2022.

Cody Dockins is also charged with two counts of murder in connection with the same case. Corral was apprehended close to the crime scene and taken into custody on the same day. Dockins was captured by the U.S. Marshals Service, North Carolina State Highway Patrol, and Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office at a residence in Rutherford County two days later.
