Exciting Changes Announced for Buncombe County Board Meetings on September 17, 2024

Vibrant Community Engagement

Exciting Changes Coming to Buncombe County Meetings!

As residents of Asheville, we are always eager to stay connected with our local government, and now there’s a great opportunity on the horizon! The Buncombe County Board of Commissioners is gearing up for their regularly scheduled Briefing and Regular Meeting on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. But hold on a second — there’s a little twist this time around!

Location and Time Adjustments

This month, the Board is holding things at a new spot! Meetings will take place in the First Floor Conference Room of the 200 College Street Building right in downtown Asheville. It’s always great to explore different parts of our community, and this change will offer a fresh environment for gathering and discussion.

There’s also a new time schedule to keep in mind: the Briefing will start at 4:00 p.m., moving from its usual time. This adjustment is because a special called meeting is set for 3:00 p.m. right before the Briefing kicks off. So, if you’re planning to attend, be sure to mark those times in your calendar!

What to Expect at the Meetings

For those new to Buncombe County meetings, they can be a fantastic way to learn about local issues, initiatives, and projects that impact our community. The Briefing typically covers updates and important matters that will be discussed in the later Regular Meeting, giving citizens a heads-up on what’s been on the Commission’s agenda.

During the Regular Meeting, you’ll find more in-depth discussions, decision-making, and opportunities for public input. It’s a chance for you, the community members, to voice your thoughts and concerns — a perfect time to step up and make your voice heard!

Join the Conversation Online

In addition to attending the meetings in person, there’s also a vibrant discussion happening online. The comments section following the meeting announcements is meant to be a space for respectful, constructive dialogue. Everyone is encouraged to share their views on our community’s pressing issues. It’s essential that we maintain a civil tone so that we can all participate meaningfully.

Moderators are actively ensuring that conversations remain respectful and on-topic, so let’s all do our part by keeping the spirit of the exchange in mind. Thoughtful engagement helps foster understanding and collaboration, which is what we need to move forward as a community.

Wrapping It Up!

So, whether you’re a long-time resident or a newcomer to Asheville, attending these meetings can be a great opportunity to connect with local governance and other citizens. With the change in schedule and location, it’s a perfect time to show up and be a part of the discussions that shape our lives in Buncombe County!

Remember, if you plan to attend, be sure to pencil in September 17, 2024, at the First Floor Conference Room located at 200 College Street. Get involved, stay informed, and let’s keep the conversation flowing in a positive direction!
