Asheville’s Haunted Trail Resurrects for Families After Storm Recovery

Asheville, N.C. – Exciting news for families in Asheville! The beloved Family-friendly Haunted Trail is back up and running, just in time for the Halloween season. The trail, which was initially set to open on October 4, had to be postponed due to the devastation caused by Tropical Storm Helene. Arica Haro, co-owner of Asheville Plays, expressed her joy at the return of the trail, stating, “At the time of Helene, we had the trail completely set up, and we were fine-tuning it, getting ready to open.”

A Journey to Recovery

The unfortunate aftermath of Helene left the trails in disarray, with fallen trees and debris scattered across the playful paths. Haro and her dedicated staff spent weeks working to clear the remnants of the storm. “It did take us multiple weeks to recover the trails from the trees,” she said, sharing the challenges her family business faced during recovery. The dedication and hard work paid off as Asheville Plays prepares to welcome families back with open arms.

A Spooktacular Experience for Kids

The haunted trail is geared toward children ages 12 and under, offering a friendly and fun experience without the fright. Expect a range of exciting attractions including playful pirates, a thrilling escape room, monster-sized games, and a sweet peak trails tour. “It gives you goosebumps way outside of Halloween,” Haro remarked enthusiastically, looking forward to creating happy memories for family visitors.

Supporting the Community

$1 will be donated to the MANNA food bank’s Buddha hunger program. Additionally, another $1 from each drink sold will benefit the Lakey Gap Autism Camp. This initiative aims to support those in need, giving families a chance to enjoy Halloween festivities while also helping others.

Paying It Forward

For those wanting to show extra kindness, there’s a pay-it-forward option available when purchasing tickets online. Haro explained that this initiative is designed to assist anyone facing financial challenges. It’s a wonderful way for visitors to contribute positively, ensuring that everyone has the chance to enjoy a great Halloween outing.
