Gas Prices Surge in Asheville, Increase by Over 11 Cents Since Last Month

Gas prices in Asheville have gone up by more than 11 cents since last month, currently averaging $3.25 per gallon. Prices in Asheville are now 11.8 cents per gallon higher than last month, but remain 8.8 cents per gallon lower than last year. Across North Carolina, gas prices range from $2.78 to $3.90 per gallon. The national average stands at $3.57 per gallon, showing a 6.5 cents per gallon increase in the past week. Various factors like seasonal influences, refinery maintenance, the shift to summer gasoline, and increased demand are contributing to the recent price surge.
