Get Ready for a Spooktacular Halloween in Asheville!
Asheville, are you ready for a month filled with costumes, candy, and community fun? This Halloween season is gearing up to be extra special, with activities designed for kids, families, and friends all over the city. The Asheville Parks & Recreation department has organized a variety of events that are completely free and require no registration, making it easy for everyone to join in on the spooky festivities!
Haunted Parking Lot on the Hill
Mark your calendars for October 26th from 4-6 p.m. at the Stephens-Lee Community Center located at 30 George Washington Carver Ave.. Get ready for a terrifyingly good time as families explore a Haunted Parking Lot filled with animated creatures and creepy inflatables. It’s the perfect opportunity to scoop up bags of candy while enjoying the thrills of Halloween night!
Boo Bash at Tanger Outlets
Come on down to the Tanger Outlets on October 27th from 2-4 p.m., and join the Boo Bash. This event promises loads of fun with spooky activities, pumpkin crafts, and music. Enjoy the amazing atmosphere as you take part in a little bit of magic, giveaways, and of course, trick-or-treating! Make sure to stop by the APR Rec ‘N Roll van for some hands-on creepy projects!
Movies in the Park: A Spooky Screening
On October 30th from 6-9 p.m., Pack Square Park will transform into an outdoor theater with a spooky twist! Bring your friends and family to watch the chilling film Insidious. Don’t forget to wear your favorite costume for this haunted adventure. This horror flick is rated PG-13, so be prepared for some thrilling moments!
Halloween Zumba Gold
If you’re looking to get your heart pumping on October 31st from 12-1 p.m., lace up your dance shoes and join the fun at the Stephens-Lee Community Center for a Halloween-themed Zumba Gold class. Bring your most colorful costume as Liz leads this energetic class right in the parking lot!
Booville Community Halloween Party
Still looking for more thrills? The Booville Community Halloween Party is happening later that very same day from 5-8 p.m. at the Dr. Wesley Grant Sr. Southside Community Center. Southside families are invited to dress up as their favorite characters, trick-or-treat around themed stations, and groove to live DJ performances. The parking lot will be transformed into a vibrant catwalk of zombies, superheroes, vampires, and more!
Shiloh Trunk or Treat
Join the fun at the Shiloh Trunk or Treat at the Linwood Crump Shiloh Community Center on October 31st from 6-8 p.m.. Families are welcome to come in costume and go from trunk to trunk, collecting treats and surprises. It’s an enchanting way to spend Halloween night with neighbors!
Montford Haunted Tent
Also on October 31st from 6-8 p.m., stop by the Tempie Avery Montford Community Center for the Montford Haunted Tent. It promises a mix of delicious treats and some fun surprises under the big top for local families to enjoy.
Looking Ahead: November Events
The festive fun doesn’t stop with Halloween! On November 1st from 12-1 p.m., there’s a Beginner Line Dance session at the Stephens-Lee Community Center where you can learn some lively new moves.
Join on November 1st from 4-6 p.m. at the Burton Street Community Center for DÃa de Muertos LoterÃa. This celebration is a wonderful way to learn about the traditional Mexican holiday while diving into vibrant culture and community.
Lastly, on November 2nd from 1-3 p.m., roll up your sleeves at the Garden in the Lot, where you can help clean up the Dr. George Washington Carver Edible Park and paint a pot to take home!
