Harris’ Fighting for Reproductive Freedom Bus Tour Stops in Asheville

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Representatives of Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris rolled into Asheville, North Carolina yesterday, as part of the Fighting for Reproductive Freedom Bus Tour.

Bridging the Political Divide

The tour, making at least 50 stops in key states, is an endeavor by Harris’ campaign to transcend political lines and rally voters around the cause of reproductive rights. The stop in Asheville followed by Raleigh today comes as an attempt to hold former President Donald Trump accountable for recent abortion bans sweeping the nation.

North Carolina, following a pattern of sharp political divisions, has proven to be a vital state for discussions around reproductive rights. “We have very recent examples as for why every single vote can matter here in North Carolina,” said Democrat Lindsey Prather, NC-115 district representative. Highlighting the influence a single vote can have on legislation, Prather continued, “The Republicans have a super majority by a single seat in the legislature. They are the ones who have been able to push for the abortion ban here in North Carolina.”

The Importance of Each Vote

Stressing that every vote counts, Prather further emphasized, “And so every single vote absolutely matters and, in essence, determines the status of reproductive rights we have here in North Carolina.”

The New Way Forward Tour

Following a highly anticipated presidential debate Tuesday night, the Vice President herself will be commencing a four-day campaign trip through major swing states starting in North Carolina this Thursday. The subsequent tour, titled “The New Way Forward Tour,” forms part of the final campaign sprint before November’s crucial election.

At this critical juncture, all eyes are set on the outcome of these campaign tours. As the ‘Fighting for Reproductive Freedom’ bus leaves Asheville and heads towards Raleigh, the Harris campaign is indeed prepared to fight to the finish in order to secure reproductive rights for all.
