The Haynes Tower Building at the A-B Tech Enka campus is currently undergoing demolition, which began in April. The Buncombe County Commission voted to officially demolish the building in November 2022, citing cost-effectiveness and the state of disrepair of the building. The demolition project is scheduled to be completed within a 180-day timeline. Efforts are being made to recycle materials from the building to minimize waste. Future plans for the site include a regrading project by the contractor D.H. Griffin. The neighboring A-B Tech Enka-Candler campus is not affected by the demolition.
