Hendersonville Prepares for a Spooktacular Evening: The Treat Street Carnival is Back!
As the crisp autumn air settles in, Hendersonville is gearing up for one of the most anticipated events of the year—the annual Treat Street Carnival. Scheduled for Halloween night, October 31, this family-friendly extravaganza will transform Main Street into a magical realm of ghoulish fun and spine-tingling excitement. Mark your calendars and get your costumes ready because from 5 PM to 8 PM, this is the place to be!
A Sweet Start to the Festivities
The festivities kick off promptly at 5 PM with trick-or-treating along Main Street, stretching from Allen Street to Sixth Avenue. Thanks to the generous contribution from Mars Candy, downtown merchants and local contributors will be well-stocked with treats to ensure no little goblin or witch leaves empty-handed! As families stroll down Main Street, they’ll find booths from community organizations and businesses creating a delightful atmosphere filled with sweet surprises.
Costumes, Dancing, and More!
One of the highlights of the evening will surely be the beloved costume contest paired with a Monster Mash dance party, powered by Sound Extreme DJ. Expect all sorts of creative costumes as guests compete for exciting prizes in various age categories. The contest will be held in the 100 block in front of the Historic Courthouse, and registration begins at 5 PM with judging slated to start at 6 PM.
Don’t worry if you’re worried about coming up short in the costume department—there’s a category for everyone, from infants to families or groups, and even a special category for pets! This is a marvelous opportunity for the community to get together and showcase their imagination and creativity.
Kiddos and Fun-Loving Families Rejoice!
For the little ones ready to jump, laugh, and squeal with joy, the Kid Zone sponsored by Biltmore Church will provide a variety of inflatables and activities. Parents can relax knowing their children will be entertained with safe and spooky fun!
Be Aware of Street Closures
In preparation for this lively event, organizers have implemented a full street closure of Main Street from Sixth Avenue to Allen Street. Please be mindful that parking will not be permitted after 12 PM on Halloween day to allow for setup, and towing will be enforced. Additionally, the 4th Avenue closure from Washington to Blythe Street will take effect from 4 PM to 9 PM. While this might cause minor travel adjustments, the safety of our families and little trick-or-treaters is a top priority.
Consequently, please stay aware of families in the area while driving on streets like N. Justice, N. Whitted, Valley, and Ehringhaus, which will remain open for travel.
