The North Carolina Department of Transportation said a four-mile portion of Interstate 26 East will be closed overnight for four nights this week.
Monday through Thursday nights, I-26 East will be closed from Exit 33 for Brevard Road to Exit 37 for Long Shoals Road. On Wednesday night, the closure will extend all the way to Exit 44 for U.S. 25.
The primary detour will be Brevard Road with longer green lights on the route. NCDOT said.
The closures will begin after 7 p.m. and the roadway will be reopened before 6 a.m. each morning.
As part of the I-26 Widening Project, construction crews will be installing permanent signs and removing concrete from the new bridge.
