Interestingly, the farming landscape in Asheville has shifted over the years. Fisher remarked, “When I started, about 60% of this business was selling hay for horse feed. Now, it’s about 80% chicken feed. Fisher shared further that a few small family-run cattle enterprises exist where children learn the value of husbandry, though many have found the venture challenging.
