“Packing for a Purpose: MANNA FoodBank’s ‘Pack to Give Back’ Event Unites Businesses Against Food Insecurity”

Hendersonville

MANNA FoodBank will hold the “Pack to Give Back” event from 3-6 p.m. Thursday, June 6, at the Western North Carolina Agricultural Center Expo Building in Fletcher. This premiere event aims to unite corporations and businesses in combating food insecurity across Western North Carolina (WNC).

Uniting for a Cause

The “Pack to Give Back” event is a crucial gathering that underscores the significance of corporate social responsibility, team building, and networking, all while addressing the growing issue of food insecurity in the region. MANNA FoodBank emphasized the importance of businesses coming together for this event to help their neighbors in need.

According to a statement by CEO of MANNA FoodBank, “Every packed box and team contribution underscores their commitment to aiding over 160,000 of our neighbors across WNC who without our support would not know where their next meal is coming from. We are deeply grateful for all who are participating and for our incredible sponsors who are determined to help during a time when we are serving more people than ever before in our 40-year history.”

Packing a Promise

Teams of volunteers from participating businesses will come together to assemble bulk food products into family-sized bags that will be distributed across 16 counties of WNC and the Qualla Boundary. By actively participating in packing meals, community members are not only providing food but also a promise of a better tomorrow for thousands of families.

Acknowledging Support

MANNA FoodBank expressed its gratitude towards the critical support from Pack to Give Back sponsors and participating teams. They particularly acknowledged Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort, the presenting sponsor of the event, for their ongoing alliance and commitment to the cause.

Regional Senior Vice President and General Manager of Harrah’s Cherokee Casinos mentioned, “Together, we are not just fighting hunger; we are nourishing hope and empowering the lives of those in need in Western North Carolina.”

Several businesses have joined hands with MANNA FoodBank to support its vision of a hunger-free WNC through their generous sponsorship and participation in the event.
