Officially announced on Tuesday afternoon, Mike Lamb, who has been serving as the interim police chief for Asheville since December 2023, has been offered the position permanently. Lamb, an Asheville native, boasts over 26 years of dedicated service to the community. He began his career as a patrol officer, climbing through the ranks to eventually earn his promotion to deputy chief in June 2023
