On Monday afternoon, firefighters in Mills River responded to a distress call as a fire broke out at Clean Streak cleaning company, located on Old Turnpike Road. The incident caused significant damage to the building’s interior, according to officials.
The fire was reported around 12:30 p.m., with smoke billowing from the roof of the commercial establishment. Prompt action by the Mills River Fire Department helped extinguish the flames swiftly, although the premises sustained heavy damage as a result of the blaze.
Investigators determined that a malfunctioning dryer was the source of the fire. The presence of cleaning chemicals at the business exacerbated the situation, leading to the rapid spread of flames and extensive destruction within the building.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported in connection with the incident. Despite the damage to the property, all individuals at the scene managed to evacuate safely.
