Asheville, NC- Local law enforcement and authorities urgently seek the public’s assistance in finding an endangered missing male in Asheville. The individual, identified as 66-year-old Kent Reid, vanished from a healthcare facility on Thursday noon.
The North Carolina for Missing Persons has flagged Reid as an endangered missing person as the circumstances of his disappearance are concerning. Reid was last observed at Chunns Cove Assisted Living facility around the time of his disappearance. He was later found near an Interstate exit but reportedly refused to return to the assisted living facility.
Witnesses report that upon refusing to return, Reid fled the facility staff present and was last seen heading onto U.S. 74A (Fairview Road).
Reid was last spotted wearing a black beanie, a blue and black windbreaker, a grey t-shirt and black trousers. He stands at about 6’0”, weighs approximately 180 lbs and has black, grey hair and brown eyes.
Authorities emphasize that Reid’s status legally classifies him as an endangered missing person. This highlights the urgency and necessity of the situation and the importance of public participation in aiding the police with their search. Reid’s well-being could be a risk given the circumstances of his departure from the Chunns Cove facility.
Anyone with details or potential leads about Reid’s whereabouts is ardently encouraged to reach-out to the Asheville Police at 828-252-1110. The authorities appeal to the public to help them ensure Reid’s safety by sharing any information, no matter how minute it may seem.
The police have yet announced any leads, suspects, or arrests in this ongoing investigation. The police are seemingly dependent on tips from the public to help locate Reid. This case stands to demonstrate the critical role community members play in responding to such critical situations. As the search continues, all of Asheville are hoping that Reid will be found safe and sound soon.
As this situation is actively evolving, the public are encouraged to follow updates from reliable local news sources and the Asheville Police Department’s official communications to get the most recent and accurate information relevant to this case.
