Historical Preservation Society sues Asheville over Vance Monument, seeks damages

The Society of Historical Preservation of the 26th North Carolina Troops has re-filed a lawsuit against the city of Asheville regarding the Vance Monument. The lawsuit includes a request for monetary damages and restates previous claims about a breached contract. City Attorney Brad Branham has stated that the city will defend against this new lawsuit and proceed with the demolition of the monument.
