Viewer-submitted photos and video showed the front part of an 18-wheeler completely engulfed in flames, with the trailer parked in the shoulder of the exit ramp at exit 46-A in Buncombe County.
In a video, a person could be seen standing in the grass a distance from the trailer. Officials closed the left lane of I-40 West a half-mile west of Exit 47 (Brevard Road).
