Donald Trump to Face Kamala Harris in Upcoming Debate Following Cancelled ABC Event

Donald Trump Agrees to Face Kamala Harris in Upcoming Debate on Fox News

The political landscape experienced a rush of excitement as former President Donald Trump accepted a proposition for a head-to-head debate against Vice President Kamala Harris. The debate is scheduled for September 4, and the venue will be in Pennsylvania – specifics of the location are yet to be disclosed.

Subsequent to an ABC News Debate Cancellation

Trump mentioned that his agreement to engage in a debate at Fox News comes after the cancellation of a previously scheduled ABC News debate. In this canceled event, Trump was supposed to face President Biden, who has since suspended his re-election campaign. Contributing to the cancellation is a lawsuit by Trump against ABC Network and its host, George Stephanopoulos, leading to a “conflict of interest.”

Trump Announces his Decision on Social Media

Trump made the announcement through his social media platform, Truth Social. He stated, “I have agreed with FoxNews to debate Kamala Harris on Wednesday, September 4th. The Debate was previously scheduled against Sleepy Joe Biden on ABC, but has been terminated.”

Trump Also Addresses the Change of Political Battlefield

The former-president expressed his disappointment to find his competitive landscape suddenly altered. He had been prepared to contend against Biden, but after the latter withdrew from the race, the Democratic party’s nomination was taken up by Kamala Harris. Trump initially rejected the idea of a debate with Harris, noting she was not the originally nominated candidate. However, the narrative changed when she secured enough delegates to officially become the party’s nominee.

Changing Tides in Presidential Nomination

In reference to this abrupt switch, Trump added, “As everyone knows, the Democrats have unconstitutionally replaced a defeated candidate with a new one. This has never been done before and is a threat to democracy. However, I am prepared to accept the results of this ‘coup’ and replace ‘Joe’ on the debate stage with ‘Crazy Kamala Harris.'”

Audience Presence in the Upcoming Debate

Unlike the previous CNN debate between Trump and Biden that had no audience, the Fox News debate will include spectators. The process and rules observed during the debate will be on par with the June 27 CNN debate.

Turning Towards a ‘Crazy’ Debate

Trump ended his announcement by stating “Nevertheless, different candidate or not, their bad Policies are the same, and this will be strongly revealed at the September 4th Debate. I look forward to meeting and debating Kamala Harris.”

Trump Survives an Assassination Attempt

Meanwhile, Trump survived an assassination attempt at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania on July 13. This event sparked polemic discussions globally and raised serious questions regarding security measures at such political gatherings.
