Record-Breaking Season So Far

The Bulldogs have already made quite an impression in their early-season meets, smashing three program records in just two competitions! At the 49ers Classic on March 21-22, Jan Málek made headlines by clocking a breathtaking 3:48.89 in the men’s 1,500m, setting a new school record. It’s an achievement that adds to the excitement as he heads into the Tennessee Invite!

Not to be outdone, DaMarr Harvey shone brightly at the same event, snagging the top spot in the men’s 200m with a blazing time of 20.88 seconds and earning a silver medal in the men’s 100m with a swift 10.58 seconds. His exceptional performance led to him being named the Big South Conference Men’s Track Athlete of the Week on March 26. Talk about a momentum boost!

More Records Fall

Things didn’t slow down for the Bulldogs, with Málek making waves again at the Raleigh Relays on March 27. He demolished the previous record in the men’s steeplechase with a remarkable time of 8:58.03. Meanwhile, Adam Hessler joined the record-breaking frenzy, setting a new mark in the men’s 10,000m with a stunning time of 29:38.51, beating his own previous record by an impressive 21 seconds.

On top of that, Paul Kiprotich’s inaugural 10,000m for the Bulldogs was quite impressive as he finished with a time of 30:01.04, placing him second in the program’s history for that event. It’s clear that the Bulldogs are a force to be reckoned with this season!
