Asheville Residents Invited to Share Insights at Upcoming BCTDA Meeting on September 25

Asheville Residents Encouraged to Participate in Upcoming Meeting

This week, Asheville is buzzing with excitement as the Buncombe County Tourism Development Authority (BCTDA) prepares for its next board meeting. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, September 25, from 9–11 a.m. This is a fantastic opportunity for locals to engage in discussions that affect our community and tourism.

A Chance to Voice Your Opinions

The BCTDA warmly invites comments from the public, either in person or through Zoom. If you’ve got something on your mind, now’s your chance! Each participant will have up to 3 minutes to share their thoughts, and it’s important to agree to follow the Processes & Protocols for Public Comments & Rules of Decorum during the session.

These meetings are an excellent way for residents to connect with local leaders and share ideas. Whether you’re passionate about promoting Asheville’s stunning mountain views, its vibrant art scene, or its amazing food offerings, your voice matters.

What to Expect on the Agenda

Curious about what will be discussed? The agenda is available for viewing on the AshevilleCVB.com website. Residents can check the site for the latest information on this meeting as well as other board meeting documents, which will be posted just before or after the gathering.

Why Your Voice Matters

Community feedback plays a critical role in shaping the future of Asheville’s tourism and overall well-being. Conversations that happen during these meetings can influence decisions on everything from festival planning to funding for local attractions. Your perspective, as a community member, is invaluable!

Next Meeting Date

If you can’t make it to this meeting or if you are already looking ahead, don’t worry! The next joint Buncombe County TDA meeting is set for Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at 9 a.m.. Mark that date in your planner; it’s another chance to get involved!

Creating a Respectful Space for Dialogue

As a friendly reminder, the comments section for these meetings is designed to be a platform for civil dialogue. Everyone’s opinion is important, and promoting a respectful discussion benefits all participants. The moderators are dedicated to ensuring that discussions remain constructive, and they will remove any comments that stray from this goal. So, let’s keep it friendly and focused!

How to Get Involved

Ready to share your thoughts? You can join in person or log into Zoom on the date of the meeting. If you do decide to come, remember to prepare your comments ahead of time to ensure you stay within that 3-minute limit!

In closing, the BCTDA is doing an amazing job of providing opportunities for locals to engage with the tourism development efforts in Asheville. It’s a reminder that every voice counts and that together, we can create a thriving community that highlights everything wonderful about our beautiful city. We hope to see you there!
